What are you working on right now?

I'm working on book three of the Gaiadon Lore series which has a working title of Bone Sung, and I am also finalising my new fantasy coming soon with an expected release in Spring 2023.

You are described as a New Age Fantasy Author? What does this mean?

In general this means that I incorporate things into my work that could be associated with 'New' or 'Aquarian' Age thinking and practice. For example, did you know that all of 'The Towers' on Gaiadon are relative to the seven chakra's and that Hiriwa Pourewa, The Silver Tower, is metaphorically, the Third Eye.

 

Are there LGBT themes in your work, and are you a LGBTQ Author?

I don't consider myself a LGBT Fantasy and SCIFI Author, there are authors from that community who would write about those themes better than I. However, coming back to the New Age Author that I am better known for, Gaiadon is an aspect of Earth in the next, higher dimension and as such the milieu around LGBTQ does not exist in the way we understand it on Earth. For example, Silas Al Seamist's ex-wife is now married to the ships cook, who is a woman, but that is just the way things are on Gaiadon; there wouldn't be a label attached to that. The shapeshifting Witch Queen Mo Moema is what we would call A-Gender. Micah Apollon is hermaphrodite a double gendered person which is currently called 'Intersex' and is recognised by law as a third gender, which I believe it is. However, what I try to do in my writing is present these characters in ways which I hope avoids stereotypes and in some way helps the rainbow shine.

 

Will your books be made into a TV series or film?

Like many other writers I would love to see my characters brought to life on the screen. However, I will have to wait until my novels are noticed by the relevant agencies and production companies. Additionally, I would really like to see an A-gender person play Mo Moema or an Intersex person play Micah Apollon.

Can you read my manuscript?

Unfortunately, I can't, I'm just too busy with my own writing. I recommend asking trusted friends to be beta readers for your work.
