Well, here it is – ta-dah – cover reveal day.
As I mentioned before, if you have been following my social media posts or taking note of my art this cover will not come as a great surprise, but like the people and places in the Gaiadon Universe itself, is the cover everything it appears to be?

So, what did you see when you first saw the cover?
The cover is actually a narrow focus on a fantasy art landscape which depicts the river Ophiucus (Serpent Bearer), the lights on the other shore are dotted along the cliffs and forests that hide the way into a bayou, commonly called The Shanty. The tiers or cliffs of Lodewick (the demon city) are in the foreground and if you look carefully, you can see two moons and three aircraft with the blue alchemical light from their rubicity engines.
However, if all you saw was an eye – then, my attempt at abstract art succeeded!

Shadow on The Other Shore is work of dystopian SFF and as such it has complex worldbuilding, many different cultures, and societies, ranging from enslaved humans who are alien to Gaiadon, indigenous tribes such as the Romarii, demons and their evolutionary hierarchies, as well as a spectrum of magical creatures, different types of sorcery, latent powers waiting to be activated, alchemical and crystal technology, and would you believe a bunch of dislocated non-human aliens called The Ten who harvest information using psychosomatic wave vibrations during gatherings attended by Nightcrawlers.
If any of this sounds like the kind of world you want to get lost in please feel free to check out the first chapter and pre-order at https://www.austinmacauley.com/book/shadow-other-shore
